ScreenNomadPrivacy policy
Effective 1 November 2026. This policy covers the ScreenNomad apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and screennomad.com, provided by AppSpectrum Technology ("we").
The short version
ScreenNomad shows your Mac's screen on your iPhone or iPad. We never collect, store or see your screen, what you type, your files or your clipboard. We keep only what is needed to sign you in, list your devices and connect them.
What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Apple or Google, your email address and name (if you share them) and an account ID. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive only the relay address.
- Devices: the name and type (Mac, iPhone or iPad) of each device you sign in on, a random device ID created by the app, whether it is currently online, and when it was first and last seen.
- Approximate country: derived from your IP address by our network provider when a device connects. We store the country only, not your IP address, city or precise location.
- Connection records: when a connection between your devices started and ended, the countries of both devices, and whether a relay was offered. These help us run and size the service.
What we never collect
- Your screen contents, video, keystrokes, clipboard, files or anything else that passes between your devices.
- Advertising identifiers. The apps contain no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How a connection works
Your devices find each other through our signaling service, which forwards only an encrypted handshake. Screen and input then travel directly between your devices, encrypted end to end. If a network does not allow a direct connection, an encrypted relay forwards the stream; it cannot read it and does not store it.
Data on your devices
The apps keep some things only on your own devices: the list of Macs you've connected to, a small preview of each Mac's last screen, your settings, and the keys that identify your devices. These never leave the device except as part of an encrypted connection between your own devices.
Who processes data for us
- Google Firebase Authentication: signs you in with Apple or Google.
- Cloudflare: runs our signaling service, website and the database of devices and connection records.
- Oracle Cloud: hosts the encrypted relay used when a direct connection isn't possible.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Account and device records are kept while your account exists. Connection records are not linked to your account and are deleted after 12 months. When you delete your account, we delete your account and your device records.
Your choices and rights
You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account from within the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by contacting us below. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
Children
ScreenNomad is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
